Either can help one to relax at night.

Kava Kava, sometimes referred to as simply Kava is a stress, anxiety and insomnia reliever. It does not impair motor function or memory. However, recent studies have shown Kava Kava to cause liver damage so it is no longer considered safe.

Some people find that 5-HTP is also useful in regulating their daily cycles. It can help with insomnia as well as anxiety and depression. It may also be useful to control pain and appetite. Before beginning use of this supplement on should speak with his doctor if taking other medication.

Passion flower is sometimes called by the name maypop and provides a natural relief for insomniacs. This plant has sedative properties and may reduce problems with the gastrointestinal track. It uses the same mechanism as benzodiazepines.
