What To Know About A Glitz Pageant

Beauty pageants are popular in many parts of the world, especially for people under the age of 18 years. In these competitions, participants are given scores and ranked by judges based on their beauty and talents. The contests are generally classified as natural or glitz. A glitz pageant allow contestants to wear intricate hairdos, makeup, costumes and other thing that are thought to enhance physical appearance.

The concept behind these competitions has existed in the United States since around the time of the 1930s. The 1960s saw the onset of the Little Miss America contest, which formed in New Jersey. This competition was originally designed for teenagers, aged between 13 and 17 years. However, in 1964 there was a major increase in the number of participants, approximately 35,000, and the competition organizers decided to implement age divisions.

These types of contests have become more popular in recent times. This industry is quite lucrative, bringing in billions of dollars in revenue every year. The parents of contestants are known to spend a lot of money on lessons, clothing and other similar services in order to increase their chances of winning.

Most competitions cater to the female gender. Nonetheless, an increasing number of boys are wanting to be participate as well. Age divisions range from the zero to 11 months group, up to 16 to 18 months. Divisions might also be known as Petite Miss, Baby Miss, Little Miss and other special names.

Competitions are typically a couple hours long, but this time may vary. There are different rules when it comes to being on stage. In some pageants, contestants have less than two minutes on stage, a rule that is enforce even during the talent portion of an event. People who are involved in this should know all the rules and regulations that are specific to a contest so that they are not disqualified or docked points. Parents of babies and young children are allowed on stage with their kid.

In glitz pageants, almost anything goes. These include participants who have routines that are very elaborate. Usually the routines include sassy moves and facial expressions. Fake teeth, fake nails, flawless makeup, elaborate hairstyles and spray tans are just some of the things seen in these big competitions. This is the complete opposite of what is typical in natural pageants.

With natural contests, focus is on the natural beauty of a contestant. For this reason, strict rules are enforced regarding the use of makeup, hair extensions, elaborate outfits and other things that may enhance the appearance of a person. Usually makeup is not permitted or limited to lip-gloss and mascara. Glitz is more on line with professional-amateur modeling, while natural contests are similar to the style of Miss America pageants.

Criteria, guidelines and rules for pageantry are known to vary by competition. A glitz pageant is known for its showy and glamorous style. These often include young contestants with big hair, spray tans, fake nails and teeth, makeup, intricate moves and routines, and elaborate costumes. Prizes and titles that can be earned will also range. People who participate in these should be well versed in the applicable rules and regulations.
